Course Details

The Expressive and Experimental Typography course focuses on developing basic principles of typography and using it to create expressive and experimental typography. Encourage the students to Assess effective presentation techniques of fundamental aspects of typographic form. students will explore innovative ways to communicate professionally with experimental typographic form. Through assignments and projects, students will apply typographic improvement acquired in both traditional and emerging contexts.
The Semiotics of Advertising course focuses on providing knowledge on communication and the study of signs (Semiotics) for visual communication designers. The theory study will provide a perception of how information and ideas are passed along and how these relationships can be explored to make a visual message more variable, attracts attention, and have a meaning. The practical study will encourage students to employ sign system in their advertising projects to attracts target audience attention and analyzes visual signs in Omani advertisements.
The Contemporary Visual Thinking course focuses on discussing and analyzing works of art and visual design using specific criteria. Students will explore the relationship between innovative concepts and the production of creative works. The course will allow developing conceptual ideas, and new visual techniques of communication through personal experimentation.
The Interactive Design course focuses on advanced visual methodologies of Human-Computer-Interaction. Students will experiment with User-Experience-Design techniques for publishing knowledge, they will go through Mixed-reality, Virtual reality, and social networking using input devices for Gesture and body interaction. The course will be a visual research-based platform to experiment design thinking results of responsive screen designs.
