SCD celebrated the graduation ceremony of the 9th batch of graduates on Wednesday January 18th, 2017 at the amphitheatre

The Guest of honor was his Excellency Sheikh Khalild Bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of Oman Shura Council. Attendees included His Highness Sayyed Dr. Adham Bin Turki Al Said, Chairman of SCD Board of Trustees, Dr. Mohamed Adel Husni, Chairman of SCD BOD, Mrs. Thuriya Salah Al Deen, Deputy Chairman of SCD BOD, Dr. Walid Touma, Scientific College of Design Lebanese American University Affiliation Committee Head, Dr. Mohamed Maher Al Said, Dean of the Higher Institute of Applied Arts.His Highness Sayyed Dr. Adham Bin Turki Al Said congratulated graduates for their achievement.  He advised graduates to be active in finding the right opportunity and wished good luck for future endeavors.

Dr. Mona Ismail, SCD Dean, welcomed and congratulated the class of 2016 graduates and parents.  She extended her gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education under the supervision and direction of His Royal Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.  She then mentioned the accomplishments of the Alumni in the various jobs and professions they joined.In this connection she mentioned the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, the Ministry of Regional Municipalities, the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources and Professional Associations and Galleries.  She urged the graduates to grasp the available opportunities for their career, highlighting the value of team work.

Finally she called upon Graduates to maintain continuous communication with the Scientific College of Design. On behalf of the graduates, Ishraq Al Mawali gave a speech in English and Haneen Al Hasan gave a speech in Arabic.  They expressed their happiness, appreciation and thanked everyone who helped them achieve their dreams.   The Ceremony included a short documentary film showing Alumni accomplishments.Dr. Mona Kamal Ismail honored the guest of honor with an art work done by the students

In coordination with Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos Private School, the Training Unit at the Scientific College of Design arranged a workshop for Grade 7 female students.Mr. Chris Collins and Mrs. Nadia Collins, Australian children's books authors, conducted a workshop during which they shared the process of writing a story and illustrating it with the students

In coordination with Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos Private School, the Training Unit at the Scientific College of Design arranged a workshop for Grade 7 female students.Mr. Chris Collins and Mrs. Nadia Collins, Australian children's books authors, conducted a workshop during which they shared the process of writing a  story and illustrating it with the students. The event is part of our college's contribution to the enrichment of the local community.

Scientific College of Design has held a workshop under Riyada Public authority for small and medium enterprises development, the subject was (Mini Tamam) by the speaker Mr. Muttasam Bin Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Sharji.

On 8th of November 2016 Scientific College of Design has held a workshop under Riyada Public authority for small and medium enterprises development, the subject was (Mini Tamam) by the speaker Mr. Muttasam Bin Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Sharji.The workshop started at 6pm in college and it was on Integrating New Measures on supporting and understanding all the necessary material to develop the strengthening of the economy also to guide and educate the students in entrepreneurship and motivate management in their projects.Which was very pleasant and very interesting for the students, they also did an exciting group work where all the students worked together and got new ideas and information on how you manage or start their own business.It ended up with grateful from all the students and the college for the speaker and all the information that he gave, and the Scientific College of Design presented a thankful and appreciation letter to the speaker and the organizer.

The Fashion Design Department organized a Workshop on Omani contemporary Dress Designs for Alroya Magazine on 28th September, 2016. Faculty from Fashion Design, students, alumni and external representatives from fashion industry attended the workshop and gained knowledge on upcoming Fashion trends in Oman

The Research and Promotion Committee of the Scientific College of Design has invited Mr. Abdullah Al Mahroqi, The Director of Communication of The Research Council on 20th of October, 2016

The Research and Promotion Committee of the Scientific College of Design has invited Mr. Abdullah Al Mahroqi, The Director of Communication of The Research Council on 20th of October, 2016.

Mr. Abdullah presented the Research activities since its establishment in 2005 for both students and faculty members.  Mr. Al Mahroqi discussed the TRC main target as to support prosperity and sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman through integrating a program for innovators and researchers. Mr. Abdullah pointed out the four strategic objectives as achieving research excellence, building research capacity, building knowledge transfer and value capture, and finally providing an enabling environment for research and innovation.

Mr. Al Mahroqi gave examples of supporting researches; Road Safety Research Program, Renewable Energy Research and Food Safety Research.  In addition, Mr. Abdullah gave examples of supporting the Higher Academic Institutions in the Sultanate.

Mr. Al Mahroqi promised to start cooperating with the Scientific College of Design to support both of the faculty & students researches & academic activities
